About
Sharf Architecture Inc. is an architecture practice founded on the belief that great buildings emerge from careful attention to place, purpose, and craft. We believe thoughtful design is rooted in a strong relationship between client and architect, built through collaboration, communication, and trust. With an emphasis on detail, materiality, and thoughtful execution, we work closely with our clients to create architecture that is considered, purposeful, and enduring.

THE approach
Every project begins with a conversation. Time is taken to understand how clients live, work, and experience their spaces, from daily routines and schedules to the aspirations, ideas, and dreams that shape their vision for the future.
A clear understanding of budget, priorities, and practical requirements is established from the outset. This understanding becomes the foundation for the design process, allowing each project to evolve into thoughtful architecture that is personal, purposeful, and responsive to the way clients truly live.
THE Practice Areas
EXPERTISE
With over seven years of experience across residential, commercial, and institutional architecture, a broad range of expertise is brought to every project. The work spans additions and renovations, custom homes, cottages, laneway suites, garden suites, and larger residential estates ranging from 3,000 to 25,000 square feet.
Every client is different and every vision is unique, making a personal approach essential to understanding what matters most. As architect and advocate, the practice serves as a liaison with the City and consultants, helping to navigate the process, resolve challenges, and move each project forward from the initial idea through to move in day.
FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION
From the moment you decide to move forward with a project, clear guidance is provided through each step required to bring the vision to life. The process begins with a site visit and a thorough understanding of your goals, whether renovating a condominium or apartment, rebuilding a house or cottage, or adding to an existing home.
Floor plans, elevations, and detailed 3D models are developed to help you visualize the finished project before construction begins. Municipal approvals, heritage and conservation requirements, forestry reviews, and Committee of Adjustment applications are carefully navigated, with your interests represented throughout the process.
Coordination with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, interior designers, and contractors ensures that the project remains cohesive, practical, and aligned with your budget and schedule.
DESIGNED AROUND YOU
Hiring an architect should make the process easier, not more complicated. The role of an architect is to take the stress and uncertainty off your shoulders by managing the details, coordinating the moving parts, and guiding you through each step. You share how you want your project to look, feel, and function, along with your goals, priorities, and wishes, while the architectural team takes care of the rest.
From the first conversation through approvals, construction, and move in day, your interests remain at the forefront. Every stage is carefully managed to advocate for your vision, solve challenges, and transform your ideas into a space you are proud to call your own.
